Sarah Reter

Sarah is a Certified Public Accountant with 17 combined years of experience in public and private accounting.  Sarah graduated with a degree in Accounting Information Systems from Virginia Tech and moved San Diego, California.  She began her career in outsourced accounting for start-up companies and enjoyed the exposure to the technology industry.  After moving back to Maryland, she continued her career in public accounting at RSM Mcgladrey.  Her focus in public accounting was with non-profit audits, preparing reviews, and compilations for small businesses.  Sarah enjoys working with startups to build a month-end process, find efficiencies, and discover cost savings.  In 2011, Sarah began working in private accounting as an Assistant Financial Controller in the education technology space.  She prepared the monthly-close, financials statements, converted the accounting system from Quickbooks to Netsuite, enhanced reporting metrics, and prepared the due diligence support for the sale of the business.  In 2014, she was hired as the Financial Controller to revamp the accounting department of a private equity owned company that was looking to sell the business.  Sarah reduced the headcount in the department, enhanced reporting for decision makers, prepared monthly sales forecasts, and initiated a budgeting template to improve accountability.  She has experience in payroll, benefits management, and inventory optimization management.  Sarah has 2 small children and likes the opportunity to continue in her career while having the flexibility offered at the firm.
